Lenexa, Kan. – More than 300 Sizewise Worldwide leadership, employees, and guests participated in a ribbon cutting at the company’s new Lenexa, Kansas headquarters earlier today. Sizewise CEO Lee Frickey joined Lenexa Mayor Michael Boehm and Chamber of Commerce President Blake Schreck in officiating the ceremony.
The company celebrates 20 years in 2016. As part of the corporate headquarters dedication, guests enjoyed touring the Sizewise Innovation Showcase, a unique timeline of equipment, marketing materials, and other items dating from 1996 to the present.
“Sizewise has grown tremendously in our short 20-year history,” said Mary Nell Westbrook, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer. “That growth was possible because of two things: innovative products and driven employees. Today, we celebrate both.”
Sizewise entered the medical equipment market in 1996 with an oversized wheelchair that could accommodate patients up to 1,000 pounds, and quickly became a pioneer in equipment made specifically for bariatric patients. Soon to follow were the Bari Rehab Platform™ bed and specialty bed surfaces created to aid in patient care and healing. Today, the company manufactures and sells a full suite of specialty equipment for bariatric, standard, and pediatric patients.
The new corporate headquarters houses more than 75 employees—including Sales Executives, Sales Administration, Legal, Operations, Training, Asset Management, Billing, Governmental Affairs, IT, Clinical Education, and Marketing. A second corporate headquarters in Ellis, Kansas, houses Human Resources, Accounting, IT, and more.
