PHOENIX, Ariz., Oct. 18, 2017 – Sizewise introduced its newest specialty bed frame at the American Psychiatric Nurses Association’s (APNA) 31st Annual Conference. Behavioral Health Bed – Platform™ provides optimal patient and caregiver safety for psychiatric and mental health settings.
“It’s simple in design and construction, and yet extremely functional,” said Brad Frickey, Chief Operating Officer for Sizewise. “We developed this bed after several clinicians asked for a Sizewise take on the platform bed. It’s not a new concept by any means, but it is safe, easy to clean, and budget-friendly.”
Behavioral Health Bed – Platform features a simple design with tamper-resistant fasteners and four anchor points which allow the frame to be secured to the floor. The bed has a safe working load of 1,000 lbs., and accommodates the Sizewise Behavioral Health Mattress™, available separately.
The Platform follows Behavioral Health Bed™, the first securely automated bed specifically for behavioral health settings, which debuted in 2011. That frame was designed alongside clinicians at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where nurses identified a need and worked alongside Sizewise engineers to develop the product.
“All of our bed frames, support surfaces, and safe patient handling items are ultimately designed to heal,” said Frickey. “Our team relies on clinician ideas and feedback before we build a single prototype. Ultimately, we only build what we know will help nurses and patients.”
Behavioral Health Bed – Platform is proudly made in the U.S.A.
