Sizewise has signed a contract with a national home health care management firm, gaining exposure to a network of 5,000 home-care providers and more than 20 million people.
The deal makes Kansas City-based Sizewise, which specializes in producing medical equipment for obese patients, a provider of choice for CareCentrix. CareCentrix is based in East Hartford, Conn., but opened a regional care center on the Sprint Nextel Corp. campus last year.
“This opportunity allows us to provide a very high-quality product, as well as our services, to those clientele that we really specialize in and to a clientele base that are often underserved,” said John Dopita, director of home care for Sizewise.
In November, the company was chosen as one of the few medical suppliers in the area to participate in a pilot competitive bidding process with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Sizewise also doubled its manufacturing space with the June purchase of an 81,000-square-foot facility in Hays, Kan.
