Interested clinicians encouraged to apply before Dec. 15 deadline
LENEXA, Kan., Sept. 12, 2018 – Sizewise® recently unveiled its first ever call for research projects. The company’s new Clinical Research Grant will award $2,500 in support of a clinician or small team working on process improvement, quality improvement, cost savings innovations, and other categories.
“We know some of the best ideas and the best research comes from nurses and physical therapists whose full-time job is working with patients,” said Sizewise Clinical Manager Erica Thibault, MS, RN, APN, CNS, CWON. “This program acknowledges the time and effort a clinician has to dedicate outside of work to develop quality research. We want to encourage that work, and are proud to partner with clinicians dedicated to advancing patient care.”
Sizewise Clinical Research Grant applicants are invited to submit their proposals in one of three categories:
--Research, process improvement, or quality improvement
--Case Study: statement of clinical challenge, past management, new approach, and patient outcomes
--Cost Savings: demonstrated through improved clinical outcomes or positive ROI
For grant consideration, clinicians must submit an abstract of their work (750-word limit). Abstracts will be judged based on originality and creativity of the topic, purpose and methodology, statistics, results, and overall writing quality. The Sizewise Clinical Support team will review all applications.
“While writing quality is one aspect we’re looking at, we don’t want that to discourage first-time abstract writers,” said Thibault. “If you have a great idea, send it along—that’s the main goal of our program, is to encourage new ideas and new thinking.”
Deadline for submissions is Dec. 15, 2018. Grant recipient(s) will be notified in January. For more information, or to apply online, visit sizewise.com/grant.
