Sizewise Introduces NPT4™ Advanced Support Surface with Microclimate Management

Lenexa, Kan., June 1, 2021 – Sizewise® announced its most advanced foam support surface today, NPT4™ with alternating pressure therapy and Microclimate Management (MCM). The mattress builds on a history of product innovation, and introduces design and material advancements not seen in other medical mattresses.

“Sizewise is known for its fabrics, and NPT4’s three-ply top cover is like nothing we’ve ever built,” said Craig Miller, Chief Manufacturing & Innovation Officer for Sizewise. “Our extreme polycarbonate fabric, AirSpace™ 3D Mesh, and Mattress Asset Protection Liner™ work together to keep the patient dry and reduce sheer.”

The mattress also introduces a new 1-in-2 alternating pump with MCM—offering a head-to-heel layer of air to provide advanced skin protection and ensure patient comfort. Also new in this product: CuPro™ copper-infused foam, which helps dissipate heat more efficiently as it reacts to temperature and weight.

“Now we have one foam support surface that can serve any Med-Surg patient, and even some ICU needs,” said Miller. “Microclimate Management keeps patients incredibly dry and cool—important not only in reducing pressure injuries, but also boosting patient comfort. And the CuPro foam is a game changer in so many ways.”

The mattress is available in standard and custom sizes, including specialty builds for all hospital bed frames. It will initially be available for capital purchase only, alongside the industry-leading NPT3™ and a lineup of other support surfaces made with materials that reduce chemicals of concern.

“We’re excited about NPT4,” said Miller. “When we say Sizewise products are designed to heal, this is absolutely what we’re talking about. The right combination of innovative materials pulled together to help caregivers and their patients.”
